The Skoda Slavia facelift has been launched in the market, bringing with it minor cosmetic tweaks and added features. The Czech carmaker has taken three and a half years to bring the first facelift of the Slavia to market, and this mid-cycle update is expected to give the car a fresh new look.

The exterior design of the new Slavia has undergone some changes, with updated bumpers and light signatures. The front of the car now features a new bumper with a shiny piece of trim running its full width and small LED fog lamps. The design of the grille hasn't changed, but its chrome surround has been removed in favor of two different black bars. The headlamp housing is the same as before, but the internals have been revised, with different daytime running signatures.

The side profile of the new Slavia remains the same as its predecessor, with the same silhouette and overall proportions. However, the 16-inch alloy wheels have been redesigned to look more bold and sport a two-tone finish. At the back, the lights feature the same housing as the old model, but the internal LED elements of the tail-lamps have been tweaked. The rear bumper hasn't been revised in any significant way, but the Slavia now comes in two new colors: Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige.

The interior of the new Slavia has also undergone some changes. The top-spec model now features fully beige seats, which don't appear to have changed in design but do get a new pattern. The dashboard has been updated with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which is larger than the 8-inch unit found in the old model. The infotainment screen has also grown slightly larger, from 10 inches to 10.1 inches. The new infotainment system offers a built-in AI assistant powered by Google Cloud, and the feed from the Slavia's new 360-degree camera is also displayed on this screen. Additionally, the outer seats at the back are now available with a massaging function.

The engine options for the new Slavia remain the same as its predecessor, with a 1.0-liter direct injection three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine making 115hp and 178Nm, and a 1.5-liter direct injection four-cylinder turbo-petrol mill outputting 150hp and 250Nm. However, the smaller motor can now be had with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, in addition to the standard 6-speed manual transmission.

The new Slavia is available in various trims, including Classic, Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo, as well as a new Classic+ option, which is slotted between Classic and Signature trims.
