Skoda Evaluating CNG Option for Slavia, Kushaq, and Kylaq in India

Skoda is planning to expand its product portfolio in India by introducing a CNG powertrain with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine powering the Kylaq, Slavia, and Kushaq. ## Skoda’s CNG Plans in India
Skoda is evaluating how to retain its performance edge with a turbo-petrol CNG powertrain. The company is looking to balance fuel efficiency with the performance expected from its models. According to Skoda India brand director Ashish Gupta, a 10-15 percent drop in performance with CNG is acceptable to customers.
The Kylaq segment is the priority for Skoda, where it is trying to tackle CNG. The potential CNG version will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, which is shared with the larger Slavia and Kushaq. This engine produces 115hp and 172Nm and is available with both manual and automatic transmission options.
