Battery and Performance Specifications

Ather has revealed detailed specifications for the currently announced 100 km, 125 km and 161 km Konarc S versions. All three use aluminium battery casings and carry an IP67 water and dust resistance rating.

Top speed is 70 km/h across all three. The entry-level 2.1 kWh model produces 4 kW peak power, while the larger 2.7 kWh and 3.5 kWh versions deliver 4.7 kW. Maximum torque is 16 Nm, while claimed gradeability is 16 degrees. Acceleration from 0-40 km/h takes 5 seconds on the 100 km model and 4.7 seconds on the other two. SmartEco, Eco and Power riding modes are offered.

RangeBattery CapacityPeak Power0-40 km/h Time
100 km2.1 kWh4 kW5.0 seconds
125 km2.7 kWh4.7 kW4.7 seconds
161 km3.5 kWh4.7 kW4.7 seconds

Charging and Practical Features

A key feature of the EL platform is its integrated charging arrangement. All three versions come with a 450W onboard charger as standard. This allows the scooter to be connected to a household power source without having to carry a conventional external charger.

Home charging from 0-80% takes around 4 hours for the 2.1 kWh battery, 4 hours 30 minutes for the 2.7 kWh and 5 hours 40 minutes for the 3.5 kWh version. A second 450W charger can be used to increase combined charging capacity to 900W. With this setup, 0-80% charging times reduce to around 2 hours, 2 hours 25 minutes and 3 hours 10 minutes, respectively.

Ather Grid access is included on the 125 km and 161 km versions and available as an add-on on the 100 km model. Grid charging speeds are rated at 13 km in 10 minutes for the entry model and 15 km in 10 minutes for the larger-battery versions.

Konarc gets a steel unibody chassis with metal body panels, moving away from the construction seen on Ather's existing scooters. It rides on a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel combination. The 100 km version gets drum brakes at both ends, while the 125 km and 161 km versions gain a 220 mm front disc. Practicality is another focus, with 31 litres of underseat storage, USB charging and reverse Park Assist. The two higher variants additionally get a cushioned grabrail.

Features and Warranty

The entry-level Konarc S 100 gets a 4.2-inch DeepView display, while the 125 km and 161 km versions use a larger 7-inch DeepView display. Higher variants also add features such as AirWalk, AutoHold, Bluetooth call and music alerts, theft and tow alerts, ride stories, Find My Scooter, remote charging status, Bluetooth and SIM connectivity, Ather App integration and OTA updates.

Konarc will be available with up to four colour combinations depending on the variant, including Quartz White with Blue, Majestic Grey with Black, Celestial Gold with Blue and Lumen Copper with Black.

Standard vehicle and battery warranties are three years or 30,000 km. With AtherStack Pro, battery warranty extends to five years or 60,000 km, while an extended battery warranty of 10 years or 1 lakh km is also listed.

With a sub-Rs 1 lakh starting price, multiple battery options and a new scalable platform, Konarc significantly expands Ather's addressable market. The EL platform gives Ather a common architecture from which it can develop further mass-market electric scooters beyond Konarc.
