Citroen has broadened the engine choices for the Aircross X and Basalt X, introducing the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine on the base You trim, reducing the price by Rs 1.50 lakh for the Aircross X and Rs 1.58 lakh for the Basalt X.
The naturally aspirated 82hp version of the same engine is now offered on the top Max trim, providing a more affordable option with full equipment, and can also be specified in CNG, though exact pricing remains undisclosed.
The base You trim of both models receives a Comfort Edition package that adds ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch touchscreen and beige leatherette upholstery for an additional Rs 20,000.
EC3 X range extension
The eC3 X electric hatchback now claims up to 330km of MIDC range, an increase of 5km over the previous figure, achieved through improved energy efficiency likely via a software update.
Citroen has introduced the BaaS (Battery as a Service) program for the eC3 X, with an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 6.99 lakh and a usage charge of Rs 2.26 per km.
New EMI options for all models
To improve affordability, Citroen offers a step-up finance scheme with loan tenures up to seven years, lowering initial EMI payments.
Under this scheme, the first-year EMI starts at Rs 9,999 for the Basalt X range and Rs 10,555 for the Aircross X range, based on a 20 percent down payment.
Pricing and availability
The turbocharged engine is now accessible on the base trim, cutting costs for buyers, while the naturally aspirated engine’s extension to the Max trim adds a lower-cost variant with full features.
Citroen has not disclosed specific prices for the CNG variants of the engine.
The updated eC3 X’s range increase and BaaS pricing make it more competitive in the electric segment.
The step-up finance options aim to reduce the initial financial burden for customers across the entire lineup.
Conclusion
Citroen’s recent updates focus on broader engine availability, extended electric range, and flexible financing to enhance the ownership experience for the Aircross X, Basalt X, and eC3 X models.
