The Maruti Baleno has been due for an update since its launch in February 2022. Now, with the launch of the facelifted model set for September 5th, fans of the premium hatchback can look forward to some exciting changes. According to recent spy videos, the company is putting the final touches on the new model, which is expected to feature a minor cosmetic update.

Exterior Updates

The facelifted Baleno is expected to retain its silhouette, with changes focused on the fascia, including revised headlights, grille, front bumpers, and fog lights. The door handles, request sensors, and UV cut windows are likely to remain the same, with the addition of new alloy wheels. At the rear, the tail lights and tailgate are expected to be carried over, with potential updates to the bumpers. The spy video showed a fully camouflaged unit, suggesting that Maruti Suzuki may also offer new color options.

Interior Changes

Inside, the facelifted Baleno may feature a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, replacing the current 9-inch unit. This new screen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and first debuted in the Victoris. Other potential updates include a new climate control panel, wireless charging pad, rear AC vents, front and rear armrest, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, and LED lighting. Some features, like ventilated seats and blindspot alerts in the ORVMs, are also hoped for, although these are not confirmed.

Engine Options

Under the bonnet, the facelifted Baleno could see the introduction of the newer Z-Series 1.2L 3-cylinder NA Petrol engine, replacing the current K-Series 1.2L 4-cylinder NA Petrol engine. This engine has already been used in the Swift and Dzire, and is expected to bring some updates to the Baleno's performance. However, the possibility of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine is considered unlikely.

The launch of the facelifted Maruti Baleno is highly anticipated, and fans of the premium hatchback will be eager to see the updates in person. With its expected updates to the exterior and interior, as well as potential new engine options, the facelifted Baleno is set to be a exciting new addition to the market. As the launch date approaches, more information is likely to be revealed, and fans will be watching closely to see what Maruti Suzuki has in store.
