Hyundai has devised a product plan for India that includes 26 new launches and major updates by 2030. The Korean automaker's strategy encompasses electric, hybrid, and conventional powertrains.

One of the earliest launches will be an India-specific electric SUV arriving later this year. Hyundai developed this model specifically for the local market and will position it in a high-volume segment. The SUV will feature next-generation Pleos-based infotainment technology and Level 2 assisted driving functions. According to speculations reported by the source, it may offer two battery pack options with a claimed range exceeding 500 km.

Next-Gen Creta and Hybrid Powertrain

The fourth-generation Hyundai Creta is currently under development and is expected to launch early next year. This model could introduce Hyundai's first full-hybrid powertrain to the Indian market. Rumours suggest the five-seat midsize SUV will offer a strong hybrid option alongside conventional engines.

Hyundai is also expected to add the all-new Bayon crossover to its Indian lineup soon. The source states this model will be positioned between the Venue and the Creta.

Production and Sourcing Expansion

To support these launches, Hyundai will significantly expand its local manufacturing footprint. The company currently has an annual production capacity of approximately 1.1 million vehicles in India.

Hyundai has also set an ambitious target for local part sourcing. The company aims for 90 percent local sourcing by the end of the decade. Its current Indian supplier network includes more than 1,400 companies, and its local engineering workforce exceeds 900 people.

Global Context and Export Role

Hyundai's Indian plans are part of a broader global schedule encompassing over 100 launches and updates in the same period. The international powertrain combination will include battery electric vehicles, hybrids, and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs). Hyundai plans to introduce its first global EREV in the first half of 2027.

India will continue to serve as a key export hub for Hyundai. The source reports that vehicles made in India are supplied to markets across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America. Exports are expected to account for around 30 percent of Hyundai's Indian production by 2030.

The increased number of launches is intended to help Hyundai address more vehicle segments and boost sales volume in the coming years. The next-generation Grand i10 Nios is also reportedly in the works as part of this product offensive.
