Jetour has officially launched the T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid SUV in Malaysia. The vehicle is priced at RM162,800, not including road tax and insurance.

This marks the second T2 model in the local market, following the petrol variant launched in March. The hybrid commands a RM6,000 premium over the standard petrol T2. According to the source, customer interest has been strong, with 2,137 bookings collected just prior to the launch.

Design and Dimensions

Visually, the PHEV is nearly identical to its petrol sibling. The key external differentiators are a charging port flap on the right rear quarter and specific badging. The plug-in hybrid shares the same rugged, Land Rover-inspired styling that has proven popular with buyers.

Its dimensions are also a direct carryover. The SUV measures 4,785 mm long, 2,006 mm wide, and 1,870 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. It rides on 20-inch Trailblazer alloy wheels wrapped in 255/55 tyres. A new Highway Grey Matte paint is offered as a signature colour for the PHEV model.

Powertrain and Performance

The core changes are mechanical. The T2 i-DM employs a series-hybrid system. A 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 136 PS and 220 Nm works with two electric motors delivering 224 PS and 390 Nm. Power is channeled through a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.

The combined system output is 360 PS and 610 Nm. This is a significant increase over the 245 PS and 375 Nm from the petrol T2's 2.0-litre turbo engine. However, the PHEV is front-wheel drive, losing the petrol model's "XWD" all-wheel-drive system and its seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The drive mode selector is simplified accordingly. It offers four drive modes: Normal, Economy, Sport, and Snow, alongside EV and HEV power source modes.

Battery, Range, and Charging

Energy comes from an 18.4 kWh BYD-sourced Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Jetour states it provides over 100 km of pure electric range. The system maintains a minimum 20% state of charge to protect battery health. Paired with a 70-litre fuel tank, the claimed total combined range is 1,200 km. The SUV also features 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.

The T2 i-DM supports fast charging. The source provides the following charging details:

Interior and Features

The cabin is largely unchanged from the petrol model. Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm SA8155P chip. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, faux leather upholstery, and power-adjustable front seats are all present.

Also fitted are a 50-watt wireless charger, a 12-speaker Sony audio system, and a 360-degree camera with a transparent view function. The PHEV adds exclusive touches: an illuminated crystal gear knob and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The side mirrors also gain an automatic tilt-down function in reverse.

Safety and Warranty

Safety provisions mirror the petrol variant. The ASEAN NCAP five-star-rated SUV comes with a full Level 2 ADAS suite, six airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Jetour Malaysia is offering an early bird package worth up to RM3,000 for the first 2,000 registrations. Buyers can choose between a complimentary 7 kW AC wallbox charger with installation or RM2,000 in charging credit from ChargeSini. A V2L adapter cable is also included. The vehicle is backed by a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty, and five free service sessions.
