The Mahindra Scorpio N facelift has been spied testing for the first time. According to images published by Rushlane, the prototype reveals a significantly redesigned front fascia.

While the test vehicle is heavily camouflaged, the changes appear to draw direct inspiration from the recently unveiled Scorpio Lifestyler pickup. Mahindra Chief Design Officer Pratap Bose had previously indicated that the Lifestyler's design would influence future Scorpio family products, including the Scorpio N.

Front End Gets Aggressive New Look

Compared to the current model, the facelift prototype features an extensively redesigned front. It sports circular temporary headlamps for testing purposes. The overall positioning and proportions of these elements point towards a front-end treatment inspired by the Scorpio Lifestyler.

The Lifestyler features a wider, more aggressive fascia. It has slim lighting elements, a large grille, and a substantially more muscular bumper. The 2027 Scorpio N facelift is expected to adapt some of these design cues rather than directly copying the pickup's exact look.

Familiar Silhouette, New Wheels Expected

The side profile remains largely familiar. The basic proportions and body structure are recognizably Scorpio N. Doors, the window line, the upright greenhouse, and the overall silhouette appear unchanged in these spy shots.

The prototype is running on basic steel wheels, which is standard for development vehicles. Production versions are expected to receive newly designed alloy wheels as part of the facelift package. Changes to the rear are not clearly visible yet, but revised tail lamps and bumper detailing are possible.

Cabin Modernization on the Cards

The interior could see more substantial updates. The Scorpio Lifestyler pickup previewed a considerably more modern cabin than the current Scorpio N. One of its highlights is a large portrait-oriented touchscreen.

This is accompanied by a redesigned dashboard, steering wheel, and centre console. It is not yet clear how much of this new interior design will reach the 2027 Scorpio N facelift. Mahindra could use this update to introduce a larger infotainment system and revised digital instrumentation.

Newer connected car and safety technologies are also anticipated. The company recently gave the Scorpio N a feature update, so the facelift may focus more extensively on design and technology upgrades.

Powertrain and Launch Timeline

Major changes to the existing powertrain lineup are not evident at this early stage. The Scorpio N currently offers the following engine and drivetrain options:

Engine OptionTransmissionDrivetrain
2.0-litre turbo petrolManual & AutomaticNot specified
2.2-litre turbo dieselManual & AutomaticFour-wheel drive available (diesel)

Launch for the updated model is expected sometime in 2027. The spy shots provide the first concrete look at Mahindra's plans to refresh its popular SUV.
