The Mahindra XEV 9S is now available with a 6-seat option, which comes at a premium of Rs 25,000 over the equivalent 7-seat variant. This new configuration is available with the Pack Two Above, Pack Three, and Pack Three Above trim levels. According to Mahindra, the 6-seat option provides enhanced comfort and easier access to the third row.

## Road Test Verdict The individual captain seats in the 6-seat option are a notable upgrade, featuring individual armrests that can be flipped up to create more space. This design change also improves the gap between the captain chairs, making it easier for passengers to get in and out of the third row. The floor space liberated by the captain seats allows third-row occupants to stretch out better, enhancing overall comfort.

## Powertrain and Specifications The Mahindra XEV 9S 6-seat option is available with two battery pack options: 70kWh and 79kWh. The Pack Two variant can be paired with either battery pack, while the Pack Three variant is only available with the 79kWh unit. All variants feature a single rear-mounted electric motor, generating 380Nm of torque, with the Pack Two variant producing 245hp and the others producing 286hp. The claimed range for the 70kWh variant is 600km, while the 79kWh variant has a maximum claimed range of 679km.
