Mahindra XUV 7XO Hits 70,000 Sales

Mahindra has sold 70,000 units of its XUV 7XO SUV within seven months of its launch in India, according to a report from Gaadiwaadi. The model, which replaces the XUV 700, starts at a price of Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the range extending to Rs. 25.79 lakh for the top AX7 Luxury diesel AWD automatic variant.

Extensive exterior and interior revisions were made for this successor model. The reception from buyers has been strong.

Powertrain and Dimensions

The SUV is offered with two engine choices. A 2.0-litre turbo petrol produces 203 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The alternative is a 2.2-litre turbo diesel, which makes 185 PS and 420 Nm with a manual gearbox, or 450 Nm when paired with the automatic transmission.

Both engines can be specified with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic. All-wheel drive is an option, but only on selected diesel automatic trims.

The XUV 7XO measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,755 mm in height. It sits on a 2,750 mm wheelbase. Buyers can choose between six- and seven-seat cabin configurations, with the option of second-row captain's chairs or a standard three-seat bench.

Cabin Technology and Features

High-specification variants feature a prominent triple-screen dashboard. This setup incorporates three separate 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster, central infotainment, and a front passenger screen.

The connected-car technology suite includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alexa Built-in, and ChatGPT integration. Over-the-air (OTA) software updates are supported. A premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is available, complemented by Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Comfort and convenience are major focuses. The list includes ventilated front seats and second-row captain's chairs, electrically adjustable front seats with driver memory, powered recline for the second row, and dual-zone automatic climate control. A panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a powered tailgate are also part of the package.

Design and Safety Updates

Exterior changes distinguish the 7XO from its predecessor. It features split-beam LED headlamps, C-shaped daytime running lights, and a redesigned grille and bumper assembly. The tail lamps are revised, and the SUV adopts flush-style door handles and new 19-inch alloy wheels.

Safety equipment is comprehensive and varies by variant. It includes seven airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, and hill-hold and hill-descent assistance. Parking aids consist of front and rear sensors, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and a 540-degree camera.

The SUV also offers Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These provide functions like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The suspension uses independent MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, incorporating Frequency Selective Damping and Mahindra's DAVINCI technology.
