Maruti Baleno Facelift Base Sigma Variant Detailed
The base Sigma variant of the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno has reached showrooms, priced from Rs 5.99 lakh ex-showroom.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted Baleno, with its base Sigma variant now priced from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). A detailed walkaround by GA.Automotive shows what features are included and omitted in this entry-level model.
Exterior Styling and Features
The base Sigma variant does not immediately announce its entry-level status. It features the model's updated styling, including a new front grille finished in black instead of chrome and the redesigned bumper. The headlights incorporate a chrome signature and use a projector setup with halogen bulbs, with halogen turn indicators. The car rides on 15-inch steel wheels with covers and has unpainted outside rearview mirrors.
At the rear, the tail lights are LED units, though the turn indicators and reverse lights are halogen. Standard equipment includes a rear defogger, a shark fin antenna, and central locking with a remote key fob for both supplied keys.
Functional Interiors
Inside, the cabin uses the same Black and Blue upholstery combination found in higher variants. The dashboard design is consistent, but the Sigma does not get an infotainment system. The air conditioning is a manual unit, though it uses a control panel that visually resembles the automatic climate control system from pricier trims.
The steering wheel is height-adjustable, but the driver's seat is not. There are no steering-mounted controls. The instrument cluster is analogue with a multi-information display in the center. Seat upholstery is fabric, and the variant lacks a front center armrest and rear AC vents.
Safety and Practicality
Maruti Suzuki has equipped the base Baleno Sigma with six airbags as standard. Adjustable headrests are provided for all occupants. Boot space measures 318 liters, and the rear bench has a 60:40 split-folding function for added versatility. A rear parcel tray is not included, but a spare wheel is provided.
Powertrain and Efficiency
Under the hood is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. According to the source, this new engine offers approximately 6% higher fuel efficiency than the previous Baleno's 1.2-liter K Series four-cylinder unit.
