Reviews: Hyundai has inaugurated new 120 kW DC fast charging stations in Delhi in partnership with Statiq

Hyundai has inaugurated new 120 kW DC public fast charging stations in Delhi. The rollout, done in partnership with charging infrastructure provider Statiq, coincides with a three-day free charging offer for Hyundai EV owners.

The new charging locations can be accessed via the myHyundai app and other charging management applications. Hyundai currently operates 185 DC fast charging stations across 105 cities in India. Charger outputs across this network range from 60 kW to 240 kW.

Charging Network Expansion and Access

Hyundai plans to significantly grow its proprietary charging network, targeting 600 stations by 2030. These will be deployed across major cities, highways, and dealerships. The myHyundai app also provides access to a much larger network, aggregating over 38,000 charging points through partnerships with multiple operators. Through the platform, EV owners can search for chargers, handle to them, reserve slots, and make digital payments.

The company has opened access to its charging points to electric vehicle owners of all brands. For Hyundai EV owners specifically, a complimentary charging offer is available from September 9 to September 11, 2026, as part of a World EV Day initiative. To use the offer, charging sessions must be booked through the myHyundai app and are applicable across Hyundai Motor India Limited-owned public charging stations.

Preparing the Sales and Service Network

Hyundai is concurrently preparing its sales and service infrastructure for an increased electric vehicle portfolio. The company has already trained more than 10,000 sales personnel for EV-related customer interactions. It aims to raise that number to over 17,000 by the end of the 2026-27 financial year. Its EV-ready sales network is targeted to reach 820 touchpoints in the same period.

Training for dealership staff covers EV technology, charging requirements, vehicle capabilities, and ownership-related information. This is intended to prepare them for the company's upcoming electric models. On the service side, more than 2,600 dealership personnel have completed EV service training, with plans to add over 5,000 more by the end of FY2026-27.

Investment in EV Training and Workshops

Substantial resources have been allocated to technical training. Hyundai states that around 16,000 person-days of training have been completed. This training focuses on high-voltage safety, battery handling, diagnostics, and repair procedures.

The company has invested approximately Rs. 2 crore in EV-based training centres. It plans to operate 650 EV-ready workshops by the end of the 2026-27 financial year. This infrastructure push precedes the launch of a new, localised mass-market electric SUV, which will sit on a dedicated EV platform and join the Creta Electric and Ioniq 5 in Hyundai's Indian lineup.
