However, sales dipped by 7.97% compared to July 2026's total of 8,158 units.

Sales Performance And Portfolio

The company stated that its sales performance "continues to be supported by its ICE and New Energy Vehicle portfolio." The latest addition to that portfolio is the newly launched Hector Tomahawk SUV, which is offered with both electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains. This expansion is part of a broader industry trend that is reflected in the latest standings for electrified vehicle sales.

Hector Tomahawk EV Arrives

Dispatches of the battery-electric Hector Tomahawk have now begun to dealerships across India. Customer deliveries are scheduled to start in September 2026.

The electric SUV has been launched with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 19.49 lakh. Under MG's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, the starting price is Rs 13.99 lakh, with an additional battery rental charge of Rs 4.90 per kilometer. These introductory prices apply to a limited number of bookings.

Pricing And Availability

The plug-in hybrid variant, the Hector Tomahawk PHEV, carries a higher starting price. Test drives and customer deliveries for this model are set to begin later in the year.

Bookings for both versions are currently open. PHEV deliveries are scheduled to commence in November 2026.

Electrified Expansion

The launch of the Hector Tomahawk, particularly with its plug-in hybrid option, marks a significant expansion of MG's electrified vehicle lineup in India. The company is preparing to add the sales volume from the new Tomahawk EV to its monthly totals as customer deliveries begin. This new model could provide additional sales momentum during the upcoming festive period. The Hector Tomahawk is the first SUV built on MG's ADAPT multi-new energy vehicle platform.
