Maruti Baleno facelift and Renault Triber Turbo launch
The updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Renault Triber Turbo will launch in India in September 2026, bringing new engines and features to the mass-market

The updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Renault Triber Turbo will launch in India this September. The Baleno facelift is set for a September 5 debut, while Renault has confirmed the turbocharged Triber will arrive before the end of the month.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Details
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno will receive its first major update since the current model launched in early 2022. The premium hatchback will get a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine, borrowed from the Swift and Dzire. This engine produces 80 bhp of maximum power and 112 Nm of peak torque.
The powertrain will be available with five-speed manual and five-speed AMT transmissions. A significant addition is a CNG-AMT combination, which will make the Baleno the second model in its segment to offer this setup, following the Tata Altroz.
Inside, the cabin will feature a new dual-tone theme and revised seat upholstery. The update also introduces ventilated front seats and an ADAS suite. Exterior changes include a redesigned grille, updated front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and a revised colour palette.
Renault Triber Turbo Powertrain
The Renault Triber Turbo will introduce a new engine option to the seven-seat MPV's lineup. It will be positioned above the existing 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm.
The turbocharged variant will use a 1.0-litre petrol engine that develops 99 bhp and 160 Nm. This engine is similar to the unit used in the Kiger Turbo and is derived from the larger 1.3-litre HR13 engine found in the Duster. Renault has also been speculated to bring a turbo-CNG version, which could arrive alongside the turbo petrol model.
Platform and Additional Features
The Renault Triber Turbo will be based on the modified RGEP platform. The French manufacturer will also offer the Triber with a factory-spec CNG option featuring dual cylinders positioned underneath the floor. This setup is reported to free up boot volume and could be offered only with a five-speed manual gearbox. The same CNG configuration might be offered in the Kiger in the near future.
