Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric India launch 2026
Mercedes-Benz will launch the locally assembled GLC Electric SUV in India on November 4, 2026, with bookings opening in early October.

Mercedes-Benz will launch the GLC Electric in India on November 4, 2026. The premium electric SUV will be locally assembled at the brand's Chakan facility in Pune, with bookings opening in the first week of October 2026.
This rollout marks the fastest-ever transition of a global Mercedes-Benz model to Indian production. The vehicle will arrive in India just six months after sales began in Europe.
Powertrain and performance
The India-spec model will be offered initially as the GLC Electric 400 4MATIC. It features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing a combined 490hp and 800Nm of torque.
This powertrain enables a claimed 0-100kph acceleration time of 4.3 seconds. The top speed is rated at 210kmph. The international specification for this model includes 4.5-degree rear-axle steering and air suspension.
Battery, charging and range
A 94kWh battery pack powers the SUV. Mercedes-Benz claims a WLTP range of up to 715km. The vehicle is based on an 800-volt electrical architecture, supporting DC fast charging at up to 330kW.
"Mercedes-Benz claims the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes," the company said. Under specified conditions, up to 305km of WLTP range can be added in just 10 minutes.
Design and technology highlights
The GLC Electric's exterior features a large grille with illuminated elements and star-shaped LED daytime running lamps. Projector LED headlights, flush-fitting door handles, and up to 21-inch alloy wheels complete the side profile.
The rear features star-shaped LED tail-lights connected by a gloss-black trim, with a solid 3D badge. Inside, the cabin is dominated by a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which Mercedes-Benz claims is the largest display it has ever fitted to a car.
This single unit integrates the driver's display, infotainment touchscreen, and a passenger display. It runs on the fourth-generation MBUX interface and features a built-in AI assistant. Physical controls are retained on the steering wheel and centre console. Internationally, the 400 4MATIC is available in an AMG Line guise with a more aggressive grille and sportier alloy-wheel designs.
