Great Wall Motor launched the ORA 5 GT in China on August 28, 2026. The sport-focused variant of the ORA 5 is offered with gasoline, hybrid, and electric powertrains, with prices starting from 99,800 yuan.
Great Wall Motor officially launched the ORA 5 GT in China on August 28, 2026. The car, which debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show, is positioned as a performance and sporty-looking version of the standard ORA 5, featuring exterior and interior design changes and chassis tuning by a European engineering team.
The model is offered in six sub-variants covering three powertrains: a gasoline-only engine, a Hi2 hybrid system, and a 100% electric powertrain. Official prices range from 99,800 to 143,800 yuan (approximately 489,000 to 705,000 Thai baht).
Exterior and Interior Styling
The ORA 5 GT receives a clear sportier makeover compared to the regular model. It features a body kit comprising a front skirt, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a large rear spoiler. It rides on 19-inch Tornado-design sport alloy wheels with 225/45 R19 tires, red brake calipers, and red decorative strips around the body.
Three exterior colors are available: Lightning Yellow, Glacier Grey, and Strom Black.
Inside, two decorative themes are offered: Checkered Flag in black with red accents and Racing Track in grey with yellow accents, featuring contrasting stitching. Equipment is largely similar to the standard model, but it gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and new front seats. These seats are semi-bucket shaped with higher side bolsters for torso support during driving and feature sporty headrests embroidered with a GT logo. The dashboard and door panels also gain unique materials and patterns to further differentiate it from the regular ORA 5.
Chassis and Handling Tuning
The ORA 5 GT's chassis has been tuned by a European engineering team to improve agility and stability during cornering. The hardware and suspension settings differ in some aspects from the standard car.
The suspension has been tuned for a ride frequency in the range of 1.4 to 1.5 Hz, focusing on sporty response and vehicle control. A high-strength anti-roll bar with a maximum yield strength of 1,250 MPa is fitted. According to GWM, these anti-roll bar and tuning changes help reduce body roll by 12% and pitch movement by 7.6%. The focus is on reducing roll during cornering, as well as reducing nose-dive during braking and front-end lift during acceleration.

The ORA 5 GT is offered with a choice of three powertrain options: a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine, a 1.5-liter turbo Hi2 hybrid, and a 100% electric motor.

Great Wall Motor has launched and begun official sales of the ORA 5 GT in China. According to the source from ORAEV China, it remains to be seen whether the GT sub-variant will be added to the ORA 5 lineup in Thailand for both the EV and BEV models.
