Simple Energy has entered the mainstream family scooter market with the Wave, a model focused on practicality over performance. The scooter is offered in six distinct models, with prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh and rising to Rs 1.90 lakh, according to a report from Autocar India.

All Simple Wave models share core hardware. They use a PMSM motor with a chain-drive transmission and identical suspension and braking components. A 750W portable charger is standard across the entire lineup.

Variant specifications and pricing

The six models are split across three main variants: Wave S, Wave, and Wave +. The key differences lie in battery capacity, motor power, display technology, and available features.

Entry-level Wave S models

The base Wave S 2.2 is the most affordable and least powerful option. It uses a 2.2kWh battery and a motor capped at 4.5kW, while all other variants produce 6.4kW. It comes with a basic 5-inch EBN display and three riding modes: Eco, EcoX, and Ride.

Stepping up to the Wave S 2.7 variants brings a larger battery and the more powerful motor. The Wave S 2.7 EBN keeps the 5-inch display, while the Wave S 2.7 TFT swaps it for a 7-inch unit. Autocar India notes this TFT display "unlocks Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, GPS tracking, call and music controls, and OTA updates."

Mid-spec and range-topping variants

The mid-spec Wave variant introduces a significant battery upgrade to 3.7kWh. It also gains a higher top speed and an additional Sport riding mode. Crucially, it is the first in the lineup to feature the GripSense traction control system.

At the top of the range sits the Wave + 5 TFT. It uses a substantial 5kWh battery pack, which provides the highest claimed range but also the longest charging time. This variant comes fully equipped with the 7-inch TFT display and GripSense traction control as standard.

The launch of the Wave represents a clear shift for Simple Energy from its performance-oriented One series towards the volume-focused family scooter segment.
