Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has started production of the facelifted Slavia at its Chakan plant in Pune. The updated model is being produced ahead of the festive season, signaling an imminent market launch.

With production now underway, the Skoda Slavia facelift launch is expected soon. The company has yet to announce the complete variant-wise equipment list and final prices.

Key mechanical and technology upgrades

The biggest mechanical revision is a new eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This unit replaces the previous six-speed automatic for the car's 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine.

Another major addition is an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud. This brings new AI-based functions to the Slavia's infotainment system. The new Slavia also introduces a segment-first massage function for the rear seat.

The updated sedan gets rear-seat massage and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. These are among the three major changes at the centre of its launch story, which also includes a 360-degree camera.

Enhanced safety, comfort and trim features

The sedan retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. Six airbags and more than 25 safety features are available across the range.

Electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats are available on selected variants. The sedan also gets a 360-degree Area View camera. This 360-degree surround view camera system is added on higher Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo trims, while the Signature trim gets a reverse-view camera.

Infotainment and cockpit displays vary by trim. The specifications are as follows:

Design updates and market context

Exterior changes include new LED headlamps and fog lamps at the front. The rear features revised LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators. Wheel designs have changed across the range, from steel wheels with covers on the Classic trim to 16-inch alloy wheels on top-end variants.

The Monte Carlo trim gains exclusive features. It has red detailing around the grille badge, red-painted brake calipers, and a dedicated alloy wheel design. Skoda Auto India has introduced the Slavia Monte Carlo in two new exclusive colour options: Shimla Green and Steel Grey.

The Skoda Slavia has already built a strong presence in the Indian market. Nearly 80,000 units have been sold since its launch. Skoda says the sedan holds close to 30 per cent of its segment in India.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Škoda Auto India, commented on the new model. "The new Slavia elevates everything customers value about the car, combining timeless design, European engineering and safety, engaging performance, modern technology, and greater comfort," he said. The rear seat equipment received notable upgrades. Market launch and final pricing are the next details to watch as production is already underway.
