Tata Motors will launch a comprehensively updated version of its Tigor subcompact sedan soon. The facelift, expected ahead of the festive season, will apply to both the petrol and pure electric Tigor.ev models, bringing significant visual changes but no mechanical upgrades.
Exterior Design Overhaul
The facelifted Tata Tigor will receive a near-complete redesign at the front. The report states the new headlamps will be sleeker and more angular, contributing to a more assertive look. A gloss black panel is expected to sit between the headlamps. Lower down, an A-shaped black surface will integrate a rectangular central grille and LED fog lamps at the corners.
On the sides, the car should get new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and wheel arch mouldings with a grained texture. At the rear, redesigned tail lamps and a red plastic panel mimicking a light bar will distinguish the new model. The Tigor.ev is likely to share these changes but feature a cleaner, largely body-coloured front fascia and may use smaller 14-inch wheels.
Updated Interior and Features
Inside, both the new Tigor and Tigor.ev are expected to feature a cleaner, more upmarket dashboard. The key upgrades reportedly include a semi-digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system positioned on top of the dashboard. A new centre console will offer space to rest two smartphones, with a wireless charging pad on the driver's side.
Both models should also get a new two-spoke steering wheel. The steering wheel on the standard Tigor will likely have the Tata logo in the centre, while the Tigor.ev's wheel is expected to feature the Tata.ev logo on the right side of the centre pad.
Unchanged Powertrain Specifications
The report indicates no mechanical changes are planned for the facelifted models. Their technical specifications should mirror the current versions. For reference, GaadiWaadi lists the following powertrain details for the current lineup:
| Model/Variant | Engine/Motor | Power | Torque | Transmission | Fuel/Drivetrain | Key Spec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tigor (Petrol) | 1.2L Revotron Petrol | 84 hp | 113 Nm | 5-speed Manual / AMT | Petrol | - |
| Tigor (CNG) | 1.2L Revotron CNG | 74 hp | 96.5 Nm | 5-speed Manual / AMT | CNG | - |
| Tigor.ev | Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor | 74 hp | 170 Nm | Single-Speed | Electric | 26 kWh LFP battery, 315 km range |
The launch follows the recent introduction of the Curvv Series X. The updated Tigor, which has been on the market for nearly a decade, aims to refresh Tata's entry-level sedan offering for the competitive festive period.
