Tata Tigor facelift rebrands as Aeris for September 25 debut
Tata Motors will unveil the Aeris, a rebranded and updated Tigor sedan, on September 25. The facelift features a new front end, LED lighting, and is expected to carry over current petrol, CNG, and electric powertrains.

Tata Motors will debut its updated Tigor sedan, rebranded as the Aeris, on September 25. The company released a first teaser image ahead of the model's official unveiling later this week.
The Aeris represents a facelift for the existing Tigor, but comes with a new name and several visual updates. The front end appears sleeker than the outgoing model's, featuring slim LED headlights with a thin daytime running light strip positioned above them. The teaser also confirms the addition of LED fog lamps, a feature not offered on the current Tigor.
Design and exterior updates
Further changes include redesigned tail-lights and traditional pull-type door handles. A new purple exterior shade is also part of the update. Earlier design patent images suggest the rear bumper will house reflectors on both sides. The car retains the Tigor's signature notchback-style roofline. The wheels feature a new design and are likely to remain 15 inches in size. Despite being a mid-life update, the Aeris will incorporate changes to its sheet metal. The forthcoming electric version is expected to share this design with some EV-specific tweaks.
Expected interior and features
Interior details have not been officially revealed, but the cabin is expected to borrow heavily from the recently updated Tiago. This could mean a revised dashboard layout, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, and features like automatic climate control, powered outside rearview mirrors, and rear air-conditioning vents. Tata is also expected to offer six airbags as standard and front-seat fast-charging ports.
Powertrain and price expectations
The Aeris is likely to continue with the Tigor's existing engine options. A price revision is anticipated with the facelift. The current Tigor and Tigor EV are priced as follows:
| Model | Starting Price (ex-showroom) | Top-end Price (ex-showroom) |
|---|---|---|
| Tata Tigor (Petrol/CNG) | Rs 5.55 lakh | Rs 8.84 lakh |
| Tata Tigor EV | Rs 12.49 lakh | Rs 13.75 lakh |
The petrol and petrol-CNG variants are expected to use a 1.2-litre engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The Aeris EV may adopt the battery packs from the Tiago EV, which are 19.2kWh and 24kWh units. Like the Tiago EV, the electric Aeris could be offered with a battery-as-a-subscription model to lower the initial purchase cost.
