The 2027 Toyota Innova Hycross facelift has been spotted testing again in India. The latest spy shots from the Hinjewadi area of Pune provide the clearest view yet of the vehicle's interior.

While previous sightings focused on exterior changes, these images reveal the dashboard and centre console for the first time. Interestingly, the interior design shows no obvious alterations. The dashboard layout, centre console, gear selector, and door trims appear largely identical to the current Innova Hycross model.

Infotainment Screen Deliberately Concealed

One key element remains hidden. Toyota's test team has placed a file or folder directly in front of the infotainment display, completely blocking it from view. This deliberate concealment makes it impossible to confirm whether the facelift will retain the existing screen or feature an upgraded unit.

This is significant because an infotainment update is a likely target for the mid-cycle refresh. Current higher variants of the Innova Hycross use a 10.1-inch touchscreen. A larger display or a newer system would help Toyota keep the Hycross competitive with newer rivals in terms of cabin technology. For now, there is no visual evidence of such a change.

The rest of the visible cabin appears familiar. The raised centre console, automatic gear selector, and overall dashboard architecture seem unchanged. Even the door-mounted seat adjustment controls visible in the spy shots look carried over. Toyota could still introduce updates to upholstery, equipment, and software without a major cabin redesign.

Exterior and Mechanical Expectations

Exterior changes are expected to be more noticeable than interior ones. The test vehicle remains heavily camouflaged, particularly at the front and rear. Patent leaks have indicated a redesigned front fascia with slimmer lighting elements and a revised grille and bumper. This treatment seems to align the Innova Hycross more closely with Toyota's newer SUV design language. The side profile and basic proportions should stay largely the same, with revisions anticipated for the rear bumper and tail lamp internals.

Major mechanical changes are unlikely. The facelift is expected to continue with the existing powertrain options: a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid system. The current strong-hybrid setup produces a combined output of around 184 horsepower and is paired with an e-CVT transmission.

A More Competitive Market Landscape

The timing of the facelift is crucial as competition in its price bracket has intensified. The Innova Hycross is priced between approximately Rs 19 lakh and Rs 32 lakh. New rivals have entered the Indian market, offering electrified three-row alternatives.

ModelPowertrain TypeStarting Price (approx.)
Kia SorentoStrong-HybridRs 29.49 lakh
MG TomahawkPlug-in Hybrid (PHEV)Rs 25.70 lakh

The Kia Sorento Hybrid, starting at Rs 29.49 lakh and going up to Rs 40.39 lakh, positions itself as a direct competitor to higher-end Innova Hycross Hybrid variants. The MG Tomahawk PHEV adds another option. These newer offerings, with competitive pricing, could attract buyers who might otherwise consider the Innova Hycross Hybrid.

The Innova Hycross retains its own strengths, including Toyota's established reputation in the premium MPV segment. However, newer rivals are raising customer expectations around technology, features, and electrified powertrains.

Launched in India in late 2022, the Innova Hycross is now due for a mid-cycle update. Toyota appears focused on exterior revisions and potential tech updates inside rather than a complete cabin overhaul. The hidden infotainment screen is the biggest unanswered question from these spy shots. More details will likely emerge as testing continues and camouflage is reduced ahead of the facelift's launch.
