Reviews: Bajaj Auto announces five upcoming motorcycle launches and two new brands, targeting different market segments

Bajaj Auto has revealed plans to launch five new motorcycles in India, with three expected to arrive by mid-October. The company also aims to introduce two new motorcycle brands in the near future. Managing Director Rakesh Sharma shared these details during the launch event of the new-generation Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150, though the names of the upcoming models remain undisclosed.

Upcoming Launches and New Brands

The three new motorcycles are likely to hit the market around early to mid-October, aligning with the festive season. Bajaj Auto has a broader plan to introduce around 10 new or significantly updated motorcycles, including new models, variants, styling revisions, technology upgrades, and additional equipment. The Pulsar N160 S and N160 SS were the first in this series, followed by the new-gen Pulsar 125 and 150.

The two new motorcycle brands are expected to cater to different market segments. One brand will target riders upgrading from low-capacity commuter motorcycles, while the other will appeal to those seeking a more premium offering. A recently spied dual-sport motorcycle, potentially powered by a 250 cc engine, could be part of this premium segment. By creating separate brands, Bajaj aims to target distinct buyer groups without overstretching the Pulsar nameplate.

Market Focus and Competitive Landscape

Bajaj Auto is focusing on the 125 cc and above category, which now contributes significantly to its domestic sales. According to company disclosures for FY26, motorcycles in this category accounted for around 77.5 percent of total volumes. Bajaj estimates that 125 cc motorcycles now represent around 28 percent of the overall motorcycle market, up from around 25 percent three years ago.

Competitors like Honda, Hero MotoCorp, and TVS Motor Company are also introducing new products in the same category. The new Pulsar 125 and 150 have undergone extensive changes, including updates to their engines, chassis, suspension, and equipment. The Pulsar 125 starts at around Rs. 92,990, while the Pulsar 150 starts at Rs. 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models feature a TFT display and ride modes.

Industry Growth and Sales Performance

The two-wheeler market presents opportunities for Bajaj to accelerate its product cycle. The company predicts overall industry growth at around 12 percent, with motorcycles recording growth of 10 percent and electric two-wheelers expanding at a faster rate. In July 2026, Bajaj Auto sold nearly 4.75 lakh vehicles globally, marking a 30 percent year-on-year increase. Domestic sales reached 1,65,747 units during the same period.
