Nissan Fairlady Z 2027 NISMO manual launched
Nissan has launched the 2027 model year Fairlady Z in Japan, featuring design cues from classic Z cars and a new manual transmission for the NISMO variant.
Nissan has launched the 2027 model year Fairlady Z in Japan. The update focuses on design inspiration from classic Z cars and chassis improvements, according to a report from AutoLife Thailand.
The front end features a new protruding nose design and a revised front bumper. The classic Z logo, last seen on the S30 through Z32 generations, returns to its original position on the front hood. A new Unryu Green body color, inspired by the Grand Prix Green of the S30, joins the palette. The wheels are updated to an Aero design in tribute to the Z31.
Inside, a new Tan interior color option is offered, again drawing inspiration from the S30. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch LCD screen and the latest Qi2 standard wireless charging pad with a cooling fan. The chassis receives monotube shock absorbers with a diameter 26.6% larger than before, aimed at improving high-speed stability. The fuel tank has been internally expanded for more stable fuel delivery during high-speed cornering.
Powertrain and Pricing
Both the standard and NISMO variants are powered by the same twin-turbocharged VR30DDTT 3.0-liter V6 engine. The standard model produces 405 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. The NISMO version is tuned for 420 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque.

The NISMO Upgrade
The 2027 Fairlady Z NISMO receives significant upgrades. A key change is the addition of a six-speed manual transmission, a move reportedly in response to customer demand. This manual gearbox is a quick-shift unit.
Driving dynamics are enhanced with a NISMO-specific Traction Mode for the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system. The brakes are upgraded with two-piece drilled and ventilated calipers, similar to those used on the Nissan GT-R. A low-friction steering rack is fitted for sharper response.
Externally, the NISMO is offered in five colors, including a special NISMO Stealth Gray. The interior is trimmed in a combination of genuine leather and Alcantara. The report from AutoLife Thailand states the NISMO variant is priced at 9,752,600 yen in Japan.
