Nissan Tekton 7-seater spy shots confirm longer wheelbase and radar ADAS
Spy shots confirm Nissan is testing a stretched, three-row Tekton SUV in India with a 2,657 mm wheelbase and radar-based ADAS, ahead of a 2027 launch to rival the Hyundai Alcazar.

Nissan has started testing the seven-seat version of the Tekton in India. Spy shots reveal a stretched wheelbase of 2,657 mm and a longer rear overhang to accommodate a third row of seating. The test vehicle shares its basic architecture with the five-seat Tekton but gets 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/60-section tyres.
Radar-based ADAS upgrade confirmed
The new three-row model is equipped with two millimeter wave radars for a more comprehensive advanced driver assistance system suite. This marks a key upgrade over the existing five-seat Tekton. The model is likely to carry over the same set of ADAS features from the Tekton it is based on. The five-seat Tekton offers 17+ ADAS functions including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind-spot warning and traffic sign recognition.
India testing and product plan details
Nissan is conducting public road tests of the new SUV as part of its 2027 mid-size C segment expansion strategy. The company has confirmed a three-row SUV is part of its India product plan for that year. Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd is expanding its portfolio by re-entering the mid-size C segment SUV space with the Tekton and developing this 7-seater version. The 7-seater Tekton is intended to compete with the Hyundai Alcazar. Nissan has not seen a drastic sales increase in the segment after launching the five-seat Tekton.
Powertrain and transmission options
The 7-seater will use the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. A hybrid powertrain appears unlikely at this stage, and there are no plans for all-wheel drive. The five-seat Tekton is also available with a smaller 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Design and expected features
The revised design includes new bumpers with vertical slits but is expected to retain the same headlights and inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The rear features a new connected tail light signature, a tailgate-mounted number plate recess, and an integrated spoiler. Other visible elements on the test mule include front parking sensors, LED light bars, flared wheel arches, a shark-fin antenna, roof rails, and a rear wiper.
Inside, the 7-seater will include features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and front ventilated seats. It may also gain rear ventilated seats, sun shades, and a rear wireless charging pad. The SUV will rival the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Kia Carens Clavis. The launch timeline is yet to be revealed, but the SUV will launch in India next year.
