Toyota has launched the facelifted Glanza hatchback in India. The new V(O) variant starts at Rs 10.49 lakh and includes Level 2 ADAS.
The updated Glanza features a revised front design with a large honeycomb-pattern lower grille. This grille has a prominent silver-finished surround. A chrome strip stretches between the headlamps, while angular bumper inserts frame the fog-lamp housings. The car also gets a gloss-black lower lip and new side skirts. The headlamp and tail lamp clusters remain unchanged from the previous model, as does the 15-inch alloy wheel design. Toyota has listed seven exterior colours for the Glanza, with Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green being new additions.
Powertrain and fuel options
The Glanza now uses the Baleno’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is tuned to produce 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. It is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT, which Toyota markets as Intelligent Gear Shift. A CNG fuel option is also available.
Variants and pricing structure
The facelifted Glanza is offered in five variants: E, S, G, V, and V(O). Prices start from Rs 6.99 lakh for the base E variant.
| Variant | Starting Price (Rs lakh) |
|---|---|
| E | 6.99 |
| S | 7.71 |
| G | 8.73 |
| V | 9.99 |
| V(O) | 10.49 |
The new V(O) variant is priced Rs 50,000 above the V variant. Toyota said: "The new V(O) grade starts at Rs 10.49 lakh."
Features and technology
The cabin retains a black and beige dual-tone theme and a freestanding touchscreen above the central AC vents. New features include ventilated front seats and a wireless smartphone charger. A tyre pressure monitoring system displays individual readings on the central touchscreen. Retained features include a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, Toyota i-Connect connected-car technology, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a height-adjustable driver seat, USB ports, and rear AC vents.
Safety and driver assistance
The new top-tier V(O) grade is distinguished by its inclusion of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Toyota confirmed this system includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. The company stated: "Level 2 ADAS offers adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and high beam assist."
The Glanza is based on the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno platform. It competes with the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno itself.
