Toyota launches 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition, a special edition focused on blacked-out styling and new ambient lighting.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition, priced from Rs 36.51 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition introduces blacked-out exterior elements and new ambient lighting as its primary visual and cabin upgrades, with no mechanical changes under the skin.
The styling is designed to appeal to customers who prefer a more aggressive, blacked-out aesthetic. Exterior features include a black-finished grille, front bumper with black and silver trim, 'TOYOTA' lettering on the bonnet, and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels. The package also adds a dual-tone black roof, black tailgate trim, black rear door garnish, a black antenna, and body-side mouldings. Inside, the cabin gets dual-tone black and maroon upholstery, matching door trims, illuminated door sills, and the newly added ambient lighting. Practical features include auto-folding outside mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Toyota has not mentioned any mechanical changes for the Leader Edition. The SUV retains its familiar appearance and existing mechanical character beneath the cosmetic and feature updates.

Market context and future outlook
The 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition marks the first factory-backed special edition of the model, following dealer-level options in 2024 and 2025. Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated the edition is a styling-focused upgrade. Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, noted cumulative Fortuner sales have crossed 3.3 lakh units in India. Meanwhile, the next-generation Fortuner has been spotted testing in Thailand, with an India launch expected next year.
