Bajaj Trekker 250cc adventure bike spy shots reveal 2026
Bajaj Auto is developing its first dedicated adventure motorcycle, a 250cc dual-sport model likely called the Trekker.

Bajaj Auto is preparing its first proper adventure bike, with a 250 cc engine, dual-sport hardware and a possible late-2026 debut. Spy shots of the test mule, potentially named the Trekker, reveal a motorcycle built for on- and off-road use.
Repeated spy shots in India show a motorcycle with clear adventure styling. The test bike has a tall front end with a distinctive beak-style front mudguard. Its bodywork is slim, and it features a long single-piece seat and a high-mounted handlebar. Completing the dual-sport look are spoke wheels, dual-purpose tyres, and an exhaust mounted high on the side.
Engine and performance expectations
The heart of the new adventure bike is borrowed from an existing model. It uses the 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine found in the Pulsar N250. In the Pulsar, this motor produces 24.2 bhp and 21.5 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a five-speed transmission.
For adventure duties, Bajaj is expected to retune this engine. The focus will be on delivering stronger low-end and mid-range performance, likely aided by changes to the gear ratios. Using this proven 249cc powerplant helps keep production costs low, which should enable aggressive pricing in the market.
Features and electronics under speculation
Spy shots provide clues about the technology on board. The motorcycle features an all-digital instrument cluster, specifically a 5-inch TFT screen identical to the unit introduced on the Bajaj Pulsar N160 SS. Bajaj has stated its entire Pulsar range will offer this TFT screen as standard, and the new adventure bike is expected to follow suit.
The switchgear on the handlebar appears to be borrowed from the Pulsar N160 4V. While a full-colour TFT and turn-by-turn navigation are anticipated, other potential features like ride modes, switchable traction control, and adjustable ABS functionality remain unconfirmed. Bajaj has not confirmed the complete electronics package, so these should be treated as expectations rather than final specifications.
Chassis, wheels and positioning
This motorcycle is positioned as an affordable dual-sport machine designed to compete directly with models like the Hero Xpulse 210. Its suspension setup is expected to consist of telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear.
The expected wheel combination for tackling rough terrain is a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear. This configuration, combined with the dual-purpose tyres, shows its off-road intent. Waldyr Ferreira, Executive Director of Bajaj Brazil, stated the model could launch in December 2026 in Brazil, indicating a global market strategy.
Timeline and market outlook
Testing has occurred multiple times on Indian roads. The motorcycle is slated for a world premiere around November or December 2026, with an India launch expected around the same period or shortly after. While the name 'Trekker' is strongly speculated-Bajaj trademarked it long ago-there is no official confirmation on the final name or pricing.
The motorcycle is expected to make its global debut around November-December 2026, with India launch following shortly after.
