Engine and Drivetrain Specs
Both bikes share a 349 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder TR-series engine platform but with different states of tune. The Tracker 400 carries the more powerful setup, developing 40 PS at 8,750 rpm and 32 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The Speed 400 produces 37 PS at 8,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Each motorcycle is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, ride-by-wire throttle, and an assist-and-slip clutch.
Chassis and Suspension Differences
The chassis setups diverge to suit each model's character. The Tracker 400, with its flat-track inspiration, uses 43 mm upside-down front forks offering 140 mm of travel and a rear monoshock with 130 mm travel. It rides on 17-inch dual-spoke alloy wheels shod with 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear MRF REVZ FD1 tyres.
In contrast, the Speed 400 is fitted with 43 mm upside-down Big Piston front forks providing 130 mm of travel and a gas-charged rear monoshock with 120 mm travel. Its 17-inch alloy wheels use 110/80 R17 front and 150/70 R17 rear tyres. The Tracker's seat height is 805 mm, while the Speed's is slightly lower at 803 mm. Wet weight is 181 kg for the Tracker and 179 kg for the Speed. Both share a 13-litre fuel capacity.
Standard Equipment
Key features are common across both models. The list includes switchable traction control, a dual-channel ABS system, full-LED lighting, and an analogue-digital instrument cluster with a gear-position indicator. A USB-C charging port is also standard. The longer suspension travel, different tyre dimensions, and altered riding position of the Tracker 400 give it a distinct chassis feel compared to the Speed. The report also notes that the Scrambler 400 X has received a new colour option.
